How to Survive the Star Rupture Cycle
Date Published

The Star Rupture cycle is the heartbeat of Arcadia-7. Understanding its phases, timing your activities around them, and exploiting each window of opportunity is what separates thriving colonies from scorched ruins. This guide breaks down every phase and how to make the most of each one.
The Four Phases
The Star Rupture cycle consists of four distinct phases that repeat in a predictable pattern: Normal, Wave Warning, Ruptura, and Scorched Earth. Each phase changes the gameplay dramatically, and experienced players learn to plan their entire workflow around this rhythm.
Phase 1: Normal (Daylight Operations)
This is your primary building and exploration window. During Normal phase, Vermin activity is at its lowest and you have full freedom to expand your base, explore for blueprints, set up new extraction points, and deliver goods to the Orbital Cargo Launcher. Use this time wisely because it will not last forever. Prioritize tasks that require you to be far from your habitat, since you will need to return before the next phase.
Phase 2: Wave Warning
When the Wave Warning triggers, Vermin swarms become significantly more aggressive and attack your base in increasing numbers. This is your signal to stop exploring, head back to base, and prepare for the incoming Ruptura. Make sure your weapons are loaded, your ammo is stocked, and your defenses are active. If you have Defense Turrets or Defense Towers placed around your base, they will engage automatically, but they cannot handle everything alone. Player involvement is essential, especially during major wave events.
The Wave Warning phase is also a great time to farm War Bonds and Biofacts, since enemies come to you in large numbers. Use this to your advantage by positioning near turrets where you can safely pick off targets.
Phase 3: Ruptura (The Fire Wave)
The Ruptura is a devastating fire wave that scorches the entire surface of Arcadia-7. If you are caught outside without shelter, you will take lethal damage very quickly. Your only safe option is to be inside your habitat (behind an Airlock) when the fire wave passes. There is no way to survive on the surface during this phase, regardless of your health, shield, or equipment.
While sheltering, use this downtime productively. Check your factory production ratios, plan your next building projects, manage your Personal Storage, and review which corporation deliveries you can fulfill next.
Phase 4: Scorched Earth
After the fire wave passes, the planet enters the Scorched Earth phase. The surface cools down and caves become temporarily accessible. This is your only window to mine Quartz Ore, a valuable resource that cannot be obtained any other way. Quartz Ore is gathered manually (no extraction building exists for it) and is used to make Quartz Building Material, which is required for advanced construction.
Additionally, after later Rupture events, Ignitium appears as glowing red and orange stones on the burned ground. You must collect Ignitium quickly before it disappears. Ten Ignitium are required for upgrading your Base Core to Level 2, which is a critical progression milestone. Ignitium also yields 2,000 Data Points per 5 units when analyzed, making it one of the most valuable early resources.
Preparation Tips
Always keep enough ammo crafted for at least one full Wave Warning defense. Position Defense Turrets (-50 power each) at the approaches Vermin typically use to reach your base. Build your habitat with an Airlock so you can quickly get inside when the Ruptura approaches. Keep your Regeneration Chamber active inside the habitat for post-combat healing. Finally, memorize the nearest cave entrance for Scorched Earth Quartz runs.
