Exploration Guide: Points of Interest and What to Find There

StarRupture detailed alien environment on Arcadia-7

Arcadia-7 is dotted with Points of Interest that reward exploration with blueprints, LEMs, resources, and lore. Knowing what types of locations exist and what they contain helps you plan efficient exploration runs. This guide covers every POI type and how to get the most out of your exploration time.

Types of Points of Interest

Arcadia-7 has several distinct POI types. Abandoned Bases are the largest and most rewarding, containing blueprints, LEMs, and loot. Selenian Mining Bases (SMBs) are smaller but also contain valuable blueprints. Caves become accessible during the Scorched Earth phase and contain Quartz Ore. Monoliths are mysterious structures near which Goliath bosses spawn. Geo Scanners reveal resource deposits when activated. Resource Deposits are the ore veins and geysers you build extractors on. Drone Wrecks and Dead Bodies are smaller loot sources scattered across the landscape.

Abandoned Bases

These are the primary exploration targets. Each abandoned base is associated with one or more corporations (indicated by prefixes like GRO for Griffits Research Outpost, CRO for Claywood Research Outpost, or CRRO for combined-corporation outposts). The key abandoned bases and their blueprints include: Purple Haze (Rotor, Tube), Lemon Souls (Stator), Grey Owl (Stabilizer), Mythic Cry (Synthetic Silicon), Next Step (Hardening Agent), Spored Rock (Chemicals), and Redleaf (Valve, Turbine, Electromagnetic Coil).

In addition to blueprints, abandoned bases often contain LEMs, loose resources, ammo caches, and environmental storytelling that reveals the history of previous colonization attempts on Arcadia-7. Search every room and container thoroughly.

Selenian Mining Bases

SMBs are smaller outposts focused on Selenian Corporation operations. Starry Night (west) and Copperfield (east) both contain the Electronics Blueprint. Purple Haze (northwest) contains the Rotor and Tube blueprints. SMBs tend to be closer to the starting area and less heavily guarded than the distant research outposts, making them ideal early-game exploration targets.

Caves and Monoliths

Caves are unique because they are only accessible during the Scorched Earth phase after a Star Rupture. Inside you will find Quartz Ore, which must be mined manually. Memorize cave entrance locations near your base so you can sprint there as soon as the Scorched Earth phase begins. Monoliths are large alien structures that serve as spawn triggers for Goliath boss encounters. Approach monoliths with caution and full combat readiness.

Planning Exploration Runs

Always plan exploration trips during the Normal phase of the Star Rupture cycle. You need enough time to travel to the POI, loot it, and return to base before the Wave Warning begins. For distant locations, consider building a secondary habitat or shelter along the route so you have a safe place to hide if the Ruptura catches you mid-journey.

Bring enough ammo for the trip and keep your Grenades charged. Distant bases tend to have Vermin patrols nearby, and the last thing you want is to get caught in a fight with no ammunition far from home. Use Geo Scanners to reveal the map as you explore, identifying resource deposits for future extraction operations.
