Crafting and Recipe Chains Explained
Date Published

StarRupture's crafting system is a deep web of interconnected recipe chains. Raw ores flow through multiple processing steps before becoming the advanced components needed for late-game buildings and corporation deliveries. This guide maps out the major recipe chains so you can plan your factory layout effectively.
The Titanium Chain
Titanium Ore is extracted by the Ore Excavator, then smelted into Titanium Bars at the Smelter. From there, the Fabricator produces two key outputs: Titanium Rods and Titanium Sheets. Titanium Rods are used in Heavy Ammo crafting (M175 GRIM), structural building recipes, and as components in advanced assemblies. Titanium Sheets feed into more complex recipes including building construction and mid-game deliveries. Both products are consumed in massive quantities, so plan for multiple parallel Titanium processing lines.
The Wolfram Chain
Wolfram Ore smelts into Wolfram Bars, which then branch into three distinct products. The Fabricator produces Wolfram Wire and Wolfram Plates. The Furnace grinds Wolfram Bars into Wolfram Powder. Wolfram Powder is especially critical because it is an ingredient in Ceramics (combined with Calcite Sheets at the Furnace) and is needed for MAR-9 Phantom ammunition. Wolfram Wire is used in electronics and wiring recipes. Wolfram Plates appear in various structural and equipment recipes.
The Calcium Chain
Calcium Ore smelts into Calcium Blocks. The Fabricator turns Calcium Blocks into Calcite Sheets, which combine with Wolfram Powder at the Furnace to create Ceramics. Calcium Powder, produced from Calcium Blocks, is used in SLAMS-12 Shotgun ammunition. Ceramics are one of the most important mid-game materials, appearing in countless recipes for buildings, equipment, and corporation deliveries.
The Helium-3 Chain
Helium-3, extracted from purple geysers, enters the Refinery for processing. It produces Glass, Aerogel, and Accumulators. Glass is used in habitat upgrades and advanced buildings. Aerogel appears in high-tier insulation and component recipes. Accumulators are essential for advanced power systems and energy storage. The Helium-3 chain is your gateway to mid-to-late-game technology.
Blueprint-Locked Recipes
Some recipes require Blueprints found at abandoned bases across Arcadia-7. Key blueprint-locked items include Rotors, Stabilizers, Stators, Electronics, Synthetic Silicon, Chemicals, Hardening Agent, Valves, Turbines, and Electromagnetic Coils. You must physically explore specific Points of Interest to find these blueprints. Without them, entire branches of the recipe tree remain inaccessible. See our Blueprint Locations Guide for where to find each one.
Recipe Station Recipes
The Recipe Station is a progression building that unlocks additional recipes using Data Points. Items like Pressure Tanks, Power Cells, and Organic Compounds are unlocked through the Recipe Station rather than through blueprints or corporation levels. Check the Recipe Station regularly as you accumulate Data Points to see which new recipes you can unlock.
Late-Game Chains
The most advanced recipes require components from multiple chains converging at high-tier buildings like the Mega Press and Assembler. Superconductors (Clever Robotics top tier), Ion Injectors (Future Health top tier), and Laser Emitters (Moon Energy top tier) represent the pinnacle of each corporation's technology tree. These items require long, multi-step production chains with components from multiple resource types, making them the ultimate factory challenge.
